FAQs:

The most frequently asked question: You don't have repair costs published at BellClocks.com, so how much does clock repair cost?
Answer: We don't know until your clock is received and inspected for needed repairs or service. Cost will depend on what parts are needed, availability of those parts (especially true of older clocks), and the time required to perform the service.

Q: Do you work on my brand/make of clock - what clocks do you repair?
Answer: We service all Chelsea Clocks, and most major brands of mechanical clocks. We service only Chelsea quartz movement clocks. We do not service Grandfather clocks. There are some models that we are unable to repair due to unavailability of parts, and other reasons.

Q: What is done to my wind up clock for a basic cleaning?
Answer: Upon receiving your clock, it will be disassembled, and thoroughly cleaned. The mainspring will be replaced, and (If jeweled) broken/worn jewels will be replaced. All moving parts will be lubricated. The clock will then be reassembled and tested. Upon succesful test, your clock will be carefully packaged, and returned to you via UPS.

Q: How do I send my clock in for repair or service?
Answer: We recommend that you package you clock in it's original shipping box, or similar package, with sufficient dunnage/packing to prevent damage. We also recommend that you ship via common carriers such as UPS, DHL, or FedEx, insured for an appropriate amount. We will be happy to assist you if possible in determining an appropriate insured value. We do not recommend use of the USPS for these shipments.

Q: How long will it take to receive my estimate?
Answer: We process all repair estimates in the order received, and recommend that you allow approximately 2-3 weeks to receive your estimate. This is not a guarantee, and your estimate could take longer.

Q: How long will my repair or service take?
Answer: Again, we process all repair/service jobs in the order received. We recommend that you allow approximately 4-10 weeks for completion of the work.

Q: How do I pay for my repair or service?
Answer: Payment is due in order to start the repair or service. We accept all major credit cards, as well as money orders, and checks. We also accept PayPal for the convenience of our online customers.

Q: Who will repair my clock?
Answer: All repair and service work is done by the clockmakers at the Chelsea Clock Company.

Q: Is there a warranty on my repaired clock?
Answer: All repair work (exclusive of case or restoration) carries a full Two (2) Year Warranty against defects in workmanship.
